“I should have come here years ago.” He drops down and takes another sip, “I’d forgotten how good the Valpolicella 69 was.” He stands and looks and the painting, contemplating “I do think this is much better than the last picture, so much less triumphant.”

“Perhaps you have mellowed Amico. I do agree though, this one is more zesty than I expected.” He drops down and refills his glass from the vessel. “Perhaps you are no longer so sure of your convictions?”

“Indeed, banishment is such a pain” he looks at his new portrait, “you’ve changed your style?”

“I no longer see the shadows as so threatening perhaps?”

“Yes.” he looks at the prone woman lying between them “I do think the Italian diet suits me, something from Piedmont or Milan next time?”
